| UK: science is under house arrest |
[Nov. 1st, 2009|04:08 pm] |
"Professor David Nutt, chairman of the [UK Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs], was dismissed after saying that cannabis was less harmful than alcohol or nicotine and had been reclassified for political reasons." Times Online - Scientists quit government drugs body over David Nutt sacking
In my opinion, any country that fires its science advisor for contradicting the prevailing political opinion of the time, loses its status as a first world power. Clearly, British prime minister Gordon Brown prefers life in the dark ages.
* Science must remain independent from political will. * Reality cannot be bent to your belief. I challenge you to prove that substance use is the cause of the social and health problems that you associate with illegal drugs; prove it is not the simple inconsistency in the classification of substances, leading to the mistrust of government, and the involvement of organized crime.
You cannot do this without science. |

Apparently Ruth's Chris stakehouse has unilaterally retracted their unlimited 2-for-1 special offer two days early. Seems it was too popular.
In my books, that makes them no different from all the other internet frauds. From now on, I'll be booking all my parties elsewhere. |

DRINK ME.
will they stare? or search, and scratch at this world?
I found poetry
-- and charisma would register me --
but
will it satisfy my thirst, to three hundred degrees?

| a better world |
[May. 6th, 2009|03:24 pm] |

Dear Doctor, I want to thank you for introducing me to a better world.
a world where no police ever coerces a subject, and no doctor ever places words in anyone's mouth.
a happy place, where those who decide what's a mental illness, can do so with perfect transparency, because no sane person would ever identify with those symptoms.
a wondrous place, where everyone is treated fairly and never falsely accused.
an excellent place, where matters that were concluded decades ago are not re-opened.
and no innocent person is ever stalked, goaded, threatened, or otherwise subjected to a lifetime of relentless, systematic abuse.
and in this happy, wondrous, excellent place, everything is beautiful, so long as: you stay on your medication.
that's right. police, doctors, and medication: all certified to remain harmless.. so long as they serve the public interest, and silence your conscience in favour of playing along. |

Complexities of Neuro-assimilation getting you down? Try the StimLoc deep-brain lead immobilizer a certain necessity for the 21st century Borg assimilation chamber, (because it just wouldn't do to have electrodes slide around.)

And so I commit to enrich your life;
a thorough promise to herald the light.
I stand, a survivor among the crowd;
a watchful sentry, who is not too loud.

that pun was so bad i cant stop laughing and just have to share it.
i'm living out in the west end; and as the bleak and tired look of the city deepens, i am tempted to sink into a murky depression. the angst drives my poetic side, just like the monkey wrench i can no longer find: stolen, perhaps.. used for crime, i imagine, to be returned after leaving embarrassing tool marks.
but the solitude is far more bearable than the psychotic neighbours downtown, and on a lucky day like this, i relax, knowing that the only envious trouble makers i am likely to encounter, are squirrels, raccoons, and birds. |

Robot love, taken to the extreme
it's better than ever
you know how to do it?
i love it
then prove it
they wanted me to drive the lorry
and did you?
tell me the truth
the rest of it got pretty gorey
you lie like a rug
you can see the photograph
all's fair in love and war. you may want to count your dice
you wouldnt
but again they might sin
they shouldnt
and I'll spank you right now
i'll post our chat into the crowd
you'll find out, in the end
whether it made you any or lost friends
cool

| the perfect woman |
[Dec. 25th, 2008|11:13 am] |
obsessed with owning it down to the wires, he strives to create that which desires. "it's all for you," he calls to above; this artist's creation is all about love.
whether archetype or cliché, he knows not what he does, slowly tinkering with gears and lines, wearing protective gloves.
pneumatics, rubber, advanced synthetic plastics, puts a spongy, gelatinous, silicon, and spastic, effervescent, elastic, and gorgeously attractive surface, on this well-endowed and active girlfriend.
silver hair and finishes, brass door knobs, in her head.. to open her mind up to doing kinky things, in bed.
compliant and appreciative, she does the dishes and the dusting, too; and in the kitchen, she is cooking up a delectable, nutritious stew.
she is a Klein bottle, for building an army of clones, and a nursery for raising them to be independent, if alone.
she goes out and earns the cash, she takes care to invest; she lights the logs in the fireplace, and sweeps his chimney, the best.
"so great is she, why does she need me?" he ponders, one evening, while sipping his cup of tea.
"it's all for you!" she exclaims. "it's all about love. this artist's creation: it calls, from above." |
